I met one of my neighbors at the bus stop this morning, an elderly woman who doesn’t look in any way elderly. We had a good ten minutes to chat before the bus came, which was frustrating because I had wanted to get to work early, but was also nice because I enjoyed talking with her.
She inspired today’s tanka:
wearing life easy like silk
watching the days go
grandkids, a cup of coffee
“Soon enough for you,” she says.
